Iron Man Analysis
The scene starts off with much commotion in a town that looks to be an
among a war zone. There is a gunman shouting in a foreign language while
others are shoving parents and kids into already overfull trucks. Screams for
help, gunshots, and shouting all blend into each other using sound to add to
the chaos happening. This makes the atmosphere feel simultaneously hostile
and scary. The characters are represented as both bullies and helpless
victims. The townspeople are helpless compared to the gunman and while
there is a young boy who is fighting back to get back to his father even, he is
eventually put back into the truck. The gunman transition from being bullies
into become victims once Iron Man arrives in his suit. Apon his arrival the
power dynamic changes and the gunman become the victims as Iron Man
blows them away with his beams. Iron Man is than seen as a hero in the
townspeople's eyes as he has just saved them. The lighting is the town is
Natural lighting throughout the whole scene. Small shadows appear through
the scene due to the tanks and small huts but there is not many. The
audience is encouraged to feel relieved and excited as the hero fly's in and
quickly saves the day before flying back off. Mise-en-scene helps the
audience see that Iron Man wants to be a hero that save people. In the scene
Iron Man shows up, stops the gunman, and leaves all without saying a word.
This also tells the audience that Iron man is not helping people just for fame
but cause he feels it is the right thing to do.
